Join us Nov. 4–5 in Ames as we mark the launch of the NSF RuralSTAMINA Biomanufacturing Engine in Iowa and Nebraska and begin the work ahead.

The National Science Foundation has selected RuralSTAMINA as a Regional Innovation Engine. This work is possible because of the partners who have helped build the coalition across Iowa and Nebraska. Join us for an evening with fellow partners and a day of planning for the future of biomanufacturing in America’s agricultural heartland.

Wednesday, Nov. 4

Tour of Research Facilities

1–3 p.m. | Departs from and returns to the Gateway Hotel and Conference Center

Visit three Iowa State University facilities that support the path from research to real-world application in biomanufacturing. You’ll meet the experts who run each facility and see the equipment and work happening there.

  • Iowa State University Research Park. Tour CyVax labs and meet with Ames startups and other resources located at the Research Park.
  • Center for Crops Utilization Research. CCUR helps researchers and companies develop new food processing and fermentation technologies, from small bench tests to pilot-scale production.
  • BioCentury Research Farm. BCRF supports work from crop production and harvest through processing into biofuels and biobased products. The farm also houses CCUR’s pilot-scale fermentation facility, and the future site of BioMADE’s pilot-scale bioindustrial manufacturing facility.
